A Note From The Board

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented Little League baseball, among so many organizations, with myriad challenges. Those challenges have led to the cancellation of the Little League World Series and Regional tournaments for this year, 2020.

There is, however, an opportunity during the upcoming summer for local leagues like Bangor East to put together a schedule and offer baseball to our local athletes.

The Bangor East Board of Directors strongly believes it is essential to the physical and mental well-being of the youth in our district to get them back to physical activity and athletic competition. In that spirit we are creating a comprehensive schedule of game and practice times for each league in our scope.

While the season will take place later in the summer, and will be abbreviated, the BELL Board strongly endorses the idea of returning our players to playing ball in any and all situations where it can be done safely.

It is imperative to note, Bangor East Side Little League will abide by and adhere to all regulations and mandates set forth by the CDC, the State of Maine, City of Bangor, Little League Baseball, or any other entity that regulates size of mass gatherings, physical and social distancing standards, and any other safety guideline that may affect the well-being, health, and safety of our players, coaches, umpires, families, and supporters.

We will need to remain flexible as we all navigate through the uncertainty of the time we currently live in.
